Soda Digital consolidates logistics operations in an integrated web portal for single touch-point freight management.

Tamex Transport is an express parts and medical supplies specialist delivering freight throughout NSW, Southern QLD and Victoria. Despite a minimum standard of 99% for DIFOT delivery, the company’s online systems for booking and logistics management were not matching this same level of excellence.

Simply put, the experience of booking and managing freight deliveries was jarring because business processes were siloed in independent custom software systems. The goal was delivering a seamless workflow that would provide everything a customer needs in one consistent UI and system, delivering a better customer experience overall. Soda Digital was engaged to develop a web portal that would unify these disparate online systems.

Challenges of the project would include stakeholder management and coordinating internalindependent custom software systems staff as well as a collection of external technology suppliers.

We began the project with a discovery process, interviewing end users and technology suppliers to understand the business as a first priority. From our investigation, optimal user journeys were mapped and redesigned across the Tamex workflow of different systems and freight and logistics.

With a solid foundation in place, Soda Digital developers went to work on the custom solution. Everything from authentication and authorisation systems, through to reporting and workflows, were consolidated in the one instance.

The outcome is everyday workflows such as making a freight booking have been streamlined for ease of use in a consistent online experience.

Where previously customers and internal staff would have to log in multiple times to access business functions, they now log in only once using Single Sign On (SSO) – across permission levels and multiple systems. Working within the centralised system and UI, users can access personalised dashboards, view personalised rates, check invoices, search connotes, and chase up proof of delivery.

Tamex Transport now has a customer-focused online portal that brings together all the different elements in a logistics workflow, in a single, consistent ecosystem.
